I love when fashion is fun. Like, actually fun. DIY, dreamy, dramatic. These girls? They’re on it.
They’re giving dream-sequence main character directed by a MySpace angel with Photoshop 7. We’re seeing fashion as fantasy: giant gold rings, cartoon-scale hands, layered textures, poses that bend dimension. It’s campy. It’s creative. It’s cool. It’s surrealism. All of it. Weird, beautiful, chaotic.
What I love most is how unserious it feels, and yet it’s so exact. Every ring, sock, shadow, pose? Deliberate.
It’s what editorials try to be (and used to be s/o 90s Steve Madden): effortlessly cool, self-aware, a little unhinged in the best way. Doesn’t take itself too seriously, yet somehow becomes the talk of the town.
This is fashion as play. Fashion as a meme. Fashion as IDGAF, but make it an art project. And it’s good. It’s really good.
